CARDBOARD

  • Multi-layered corrugated cardboard
  • Cardboard boxes

MIXED PAPER 

  • Newspapers
  • Office paper (all colors)
  • Glossy paper (brochures, magazines, catalogs, newspaper inserts, etc.)
  • Telephone books
  • File folders
  • Junk mail
  • Envelopes with and without windows
  • Thin paper (fax paper, receipts, etc.)
  • Paperboard (cereal boxes, paper towel rolls, shoe boxes, beverage cartons, gift boxes, and any other single layered
    paperboard)
  • Milk and juice cartons
  • Egg cartons (cardboard only – not Styrofoam)
  • Post-It notes/self adhesive paper
  • Soft cover (novels, notebooks, etc.) and hardcover books
  • Paper bags
  • Wrapping paper
  • Tissue paper
  • Shredded paper (bag it so it doesn’t make a mess)
  • Pizza boxes
  • Paper plates
  • Copy paper ream wrappers

COMMINGLED RECYCLING

  • Glass bottles and jars
  • Aluminum cans (soda cans, etc.)
  • Metal food and beverage cans. Lids and labels are okay.
  • Plastic items labeled with a recycling symbol and the numbers 1-7
  • Empty aerosol cans (must be completely empty and must not have contained hazardous material)
  • Aluminum foil and trays
  • Wire hangers
  • Drinking glasses
  • Incidentals such as labels, caps and neck rings on plastic containers, and the pump in a hand soap bottle

DO NOT Recycle...

  • Styrofoam (containers, cups, packing material)
  • Bubble wrap
  • Cookware
  • Ceramics
  • Pots and pans
  • Flatware/silverware
  • Scissors
  • Light bulbs
  • Mirrors
  • Window glass
  • Containers that held toxic or hazardous materials (paint, solvents, etc.)
  • Plastic bags
  • Saran wrap
  • Twine, ribbon, string
  • Tissues, napkins, or paper towels
  • Carbon paper
  • Small appliances (curling irons, toasters, electric toothbrushes, etc.)
  • Batteries
  • Computers or other electronic devices
