April 1,2010

Dear Fellow Owners at the Lauren:

As sure as the crocuses are coming up, so is our annual meeting. The meeting may not be as colorful as the flowers, but it's just as certain a sign of spring. We'll convene at the Marriott Hotel on 21st and M Streets on Thursday, May 6, at 7:30 p.m., in one of the meeting rooms on the mezzanine level.

Speaking for your board of directors, I sincerely hope you'll attend. As most of you know, it's the one time of year that we'll review the nitty-gritty of what's probably your largest single investment. We'll review our finances, our capital improvements, our plans— and we'll welcome your input, your suggestions, for future projects and new policies.

It's also your opportunity to vote for your board of directors. The present board has indicated its willingness to serve again, and owner Thomas Zawalich has indicated his intention to run for the board. The annual meeting is an opportunity for other resident owners either to volunteer to run, or to nominate other resident owners for the board.

The board this year consists of Elizabeth VanderPutten (secretary), John Filice (treasurer), Barrett Witkin (second vice president), Dwight Clark (first vice president), and me — Roger Hirschland (president). Please attend, contribute to the meeting, chat with neighbors, and enjoy some light refreshments.

If, in the end, you cannot make it to the meeting, please print and send us your proxy. Indicate a board member who can vote for you, or another fellow owner who you know will attend the meeting and represent you. Please return your proxy to Building Manager Walter Krolman, who will deliver it to the designated person; or send or deliver it yourself to your intended representative.

I remind you that if we don't get a quorum through attendance and proxies, we will have to rent the hotel meeting room again, send out notices again, and waste a lot of condo money in the process.

So, come on by on Thursday, May 6, at 7:30 p.m. Or, second best, print and send us your proxy.

For the board, kind regards,
Roger B. Hirschland, President
Lauren Board of Directors
