Compliments and Thanks to the Lauren Staff
I want to commend the remarkable efforts our hourly staff have been making in the past few days during the storms to ensure that our building is up and running.
Both Thomas and Isaak have put in 24-hour shifts at the front desk. Ruta walked for two hours a couple of mornings ago to get here without public transportation. Henry battled his way in with limited public transit. Hiskias is currently here after 19 hours, with a 12-hour shift still ahead of him. And today, Cacho came in on his day off -- bringing his stepson Manuel. When I just went down to relieve Hiskias so he could sleep for a while, Cacho was already at the desk, having sent Hiskias upstairs to rest. Salvador, too, managed to make it in yesterday.
We are very, very lucky to have staff who work so hard to make our home so comfortable and secure. Their loyalty, commitment, and hard work are invaluable and greatly appreciated.
A deeply felt "thank you" to all the staff who have made special efforts on our behalf in the past few days.
