Re: Holiday Gifts

Dear Fellow Owners and Tenants in the Lauren:

Most of you know that we have a long tradition of voluntarily pooling our holiday gratuities to condo staff as the end of the year approaches.

By combining our gifts, we make it easier for those to participate who might otherwise feel that their contribution would be too small. I think you will agree that we are most fortunate in having a loyal, hard working staff, some of whom have been with us for decades, who labor on a daily basis to maintain our comfort, satisfaction, and security.

In fact, no contribution is too small (or too large!). I know that these are tough times to be soliciting contributions—for anything. But please write a check for what you can, make it out to “Lauren Holiday Fund,” and deliver it to the front desk, to the attention of Walter Krolman, our manager. After the collection deadline of Monday, December 22, Walter will divide the collection among the staff—not including himself—on the basis of the hours an employee serves us each week. (The condo board traditionally addresses the manager separately.)

We will acknowledge your contribution by name, but not amount, in a list of donors delivered to the staff, owners, and tenants. If you want to remain anonymous, please indicate that with your payment, and we will honor your request.

Please note: Unlike our procedures from years past, this year, there will be no extension of collections past Monday, December 22. If you would like to join the vast majority of owners who have participated in the past, please write your check by the deadline. In fact, why not do it right now, while you’re holding this letter?

Thank you in advance for your participation in this program to honor our deserving staff.

Cordially,
Roger B. Hirschland, President
For the Board of Directors
