Re: Annual Meeting May 10
From: Roger Hirschland, President
Date: April 1, 2007

Dear Fellow Lauren Owner:

The 28th annual meeting of the Lauren Condominium Association will be held on Thursday, May 10. 2007, at 7p.m. at the Washington Marriott Hotel, 1221 22nd St. NW, in Washington, on the east side of 22nd Street between M and N Streets.

I know you get a letter like this every year. But please do pay heed to the message: You are warmly encouraged to come to the meeting, hear about the status of our home, meet your fellow owners, and make suggestions for the future of our building.
in recent years, as condo matters have gone rather smoothly, many of you have opted not to attend. That’s OK, but should you choose to skip the gathering, we absolutely need your proxy. Without a quorum, we would have to reschedule the meeting at a not insignificant cost to the condo and also re-rent the meeting hall.

So, please, please: Take care of signing and delivering your proxy right away if you cannot attend the meeting. Return it in the enclosed stamped envelope or give it to another owner who will be at the meeting.

A reminder: One of the main purposes of the annual meeting is to elect a board of directors. The election of a board shapes the direction of the building. Owners who live in their units at the Lauren are eligible to serve. Both long-time owners and newcomers are enthusiastically encouraged to consider running for office. Some current board members may choose not to run. Please contact me at my apartment (906) or at (202) 463-6194, or contact any other board member (Dwight Clark—917, John Filice—812, Joseph Morris—905, or Elizabeth VanderPutten—1 004) for information on what being a board member involves. Nominations for the board will be accepted from the floor at the meeting, but a printed ballot will be prepared beforehand listing the names of candidates who have already indicated their willingness to serve.

If you’re planning to attend, it will be a pleasure to see you and meet those of you who are newer to the building.

Sincerely.

Roger B. Hirschland, President
Board of Directors
