Re: Central  Air Conditioning/Heat

As we near the time of year where we make a building wide transition from air conditioning capabilities to heating capabilities, I would like to provide notice of the approximate time frame that is followed. Keep in mind that this can fluctuate slightly based upon either climatic conditions or mechanical developments.

October 24

  1. Central air conditioning remains activated (ON) during daytime hours.
  2. Central air conditioning is turned OFF during evening/night hours
  3. We recommend you consider turning off your convector fan at night as air it circulates will not be conditioned (cooled or heated).
  4. Closed loop water temperature is raised from 42 to 44 degrees so as to avoid excessively low operating conditions that could damage compressor.

October 24 through

  1. Lauren maintenance services individual convector November 4 units. This is done floor by floor starting on the 10th floor and working downwards. At least 24 hour notice is supplied before a floor is worked on.

November 5

  1. Heat is available, and will be turned on as daily (APPROXIMATE) conditions dictate.

November 15

  1. Heat is on for the season. It will be turned off (APPROXIMATE) temporarily if Indian Summer conditions exist.

We recognize that the different exposures of The Lauren to sunlight and wind, as well as personal preferences as to temperature make this a difficult time of the year to achieve 100% ideal conditions throughout the entire building, and we appreciate your understanding of this.

Finally, when heat is activated a follow-up notice will be promulgated concerning proper usage of the system to achieve your optimum desired temperature.

As always, your insights are appreciated!
