The central air conditioning system is currently on! We would like to review recent events related to the commencement of the air conditioning season. A brief overview may be found below. As promised on April 12 the Board of Directors and management closely monitored the weather forecast to schedule the association’s Air Conditioning contractors activation of the cooling system. After the frost warning for April 16 the long range forecast indicated a prevailing warmer trend. Thus on April 17 management recommended and the Board President authorized the changeover to air conditioning at the earliest opportunity. McQuay Service arrived midday the very next day (Monday April 18) to start up the system. Regretfully several technical mechanical issues arose, some of which could not be diagnosed and resolved on either Monday the 18th or the next day despite the efforts of representatives of two companies that the Lauren utilizes in these matters. As of 330PM on the 20th, the central air conditioning system, while operational, was not functioning 100% normally. It was anticipated that to avoid damage to the main compressor we would have to turn off the central system later that evening. Fortunately the detrimental control issues were resolved shortly thereafter so at this time we can run the unit continuously as is normally the case. As always, our thanks for your patience and understanding! |
