Residents of The Lauren As we near the time of year where we make a building wide transition from air conditioning capabilities to heating capabilities, I would like to provide notice of the approximate time frame that is followed. Keep in mind that this can fluctuate slightly based upon either climatic conditions or mechanical developments. October 17 - Central air conditioning is off for the season. October 17 through October 31 - No heat or air conditioning is available. Air conditioning cannot be restarted. Heat cannot be activated. October 17 through October 31 - Closed loop shut off and balancing valves will be replaced in all tiers. These valves are found in the ceiling of units on the 10th floor. G&L Mechanical will be performing this work and Lauren maintenance will be repairing any drywall/paint damage that occurs. Units on the 10th floor will be provided advance notice as to when the valve(s) in their unit will be worked on. November 1 - Heat is available, and will be turned on as daily conditions dictate. November 15 - Heat is on for the season. It will be turned off temporarily if Indian Summer conditions exist. We recognize that different exposures of The Lauren receive varying amounts of sunlight and wind, and we appreciate your understanding of the necessity of performing this maintenance during this transitional period, when there is no water flow/pressure in the line. Related to this area please note that Lauren Maintenance will begin their semi-annual servicing of the convectors on Monday, October 21, 2002. The primary function performed at this time is the changing of filters. Approximately 48 hours notice will be provided before work on a given floor is undertaken. Note that work will commence at the top of the building and work downwards. Finally, when heat is activated a follow-up notice will be promulgated concerning proper usage of the system to achieve your optimum desired temperature. As always, your insights are appreciated! |
