A message from the Mayor's office.....
This is a reminder that enforcement of the new Residential Parking Permit (RPP)
zones is only two weeks away. As you recall, redistricting changed some
ward boundaries/RPP zones. Hence, some residents need to get new RPP
stickers from Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). The redrawn boundaries
took effect on January 1, 2002. However, special legislation provided a
six-month grace period for those residents whose zones have changed. That period
is running out: DPW enforcement of the new RPP zones begins Monday, July
1, 2002.
Any vehicle parked in a posted residential zone for over
two hours - without the correct DMV parking permit - is subject to citation.
For further information, contact DMV at (202) 727-5000.
