Dear Resident,

Our building will be having the floors x-rayed on Thursday Sept. 07 2000 in order to begin the installation of the new cable, telephone, and Internet services to be provided by STARPOWER. X-Rays will take place on each floor in the Trash Rooms: While the x-ray machine is actually operating at each location (approximately 10 to 15 minutes per location) it will be necessary for those tenants in the units adjacent to the Trash Rooms to leave their units until the crew is finished running the machine at that location. This is pursuant to §20- 1301(2) of the Code of Federal. Regulations, Subpart D, requiring that radioactive exposure to a member of the public is not to exceed .002 rem per hour, therefore, during the time these x-rays take place, the public shall not have access to the controlled areas. (10 CFR 1, §20- 1301 (2).

 Undeveloped film 

in those units should also be removed during this time so that the x-rays do not affect it. Foot traffic will be halted on the floor near the location for this 10 to 15 minute period as well.
