HVAC Schedule

| |
| As regards the central heating/air
conditioning system that services the Lauren
please be aware of the following tentative
schedule: |
| |
|
| March 13 |
Lauren maintenance began
to service convectors (Monday thru Friday).
Because of safety concerns, heat is turned off
during day and reactivated in late afternoon.
Additional notice will be forthcoming as your
floor is due to be serviced. This process works
from the top floor downward and should be
completed by April 7th. |
| |
|
| March 27 |
Boilers that provide heat
are turned off. If, because of unseasonably cold
weather, heat is required they can and will be
reactivated. During this period (when the boilers
are off) you may still use your fan for
circulation, but the air will not be heated. |
| |
|
| April 3 |
(Or when weather
conditions indicate that heating is no longer
foreseeable) McQuay Service, our HVAC contractor,
and Wayne Hall, the association engineer will
valve the system over to air conditioning
positions/settings. Other various components (e.g..
cooling tower) will have already been prepared
for the cooling season. When this occurs heat is
no longer available. |
| |
|
| April 10 |
As daily weather
conditions (heat/humidity) dictate air
conditioning will be activated/deactivated.
Continuous running of the air conditioning system
usually takes place by early May and continues
until mid October. |
| |
|
| We are aware that the vagaries of the
weather, this year more than normal, and the
necessity of performing required preventative
maintenance make it difficult to maintain ideal
interior climatic conditions. This is especially
true given the fact of a central system that
cannot instantaneously be interchanged between
heat and air conditioning. We apologize in
advance for any inconvenience that you may
experience. Please feel free to contact me with
any questions you might have as regards the
transition from heat to air conditioning as
detailed above. PLEASE NOTE
THAT THE LAUREN BOARD OF DIRECTORS HAS APPROVED
THE INSTALLATION OF A TRANSITIONAL HVAC SYSTEM.
THIS WILL ALLOW THE CENTRAL SYSTEM TO BE
INTERCHANGED BETWEEN HEAT AND AIR CONDITIONING IN
RESPONSE TO CLIMATE CHANGES IN A MANNER THAT IS
MORE EXPEDIENT THAN THAT WHICH CURRENTLY EXISTS.
THIS SYSTEM WILL IMPACT UPON THE ABOVE PROJECTED
TIMING. A NOTICE WILL BE CIRCULATED WHEN THE NEW
SYSTEM IS FUNCTIONAL.
