The
20th St. postoffice branch is NOT open
The
USPS, it was reported this morning, neglected to make
arrangements with the building owners to install a
satellite dish on the roof. The equipment is needed to
run their equipment. --Webmaster, 1/19/00
The following
official notice from the U.S. Postal Service announces
the re-opening of the 20th Street branch at 8 am on
January 18, 2000. --Webmaster, 1/11/00

Dear Postal Customer:
We will be closing down the old Farragut Station located
at 1145 19th Street NW and moving back to the 20th Street
Station located at 2001 M Street NW. ' The old Farragut
Station (1145 19th Street NW) will close at 6:00 pm on
Friday January 14, 2000 and all operations, sales and
services will begin at 8:00 am on Tuesday January 18,
2000 the day after Martin Luther King Holiday at the 20'h
Street facility.
We would like to express our appreciation for your
continued patronage and service. We hope the new facility
will provide you with the quality service you deserve as
a valued customer.
To provide security of your mail, all box holders must
present acceptable identification when picking up your
new box keys. All agents or representatives will need to
present acceptable identification and authorization.
All notice left mail will be returned and picked up at
the new 20th Street Station (2001 M Street NW) beginning
at 10:00 am on Tuesday January 18, 2000. The Farragut
Station (1800 M Street NW) will no longer provide this
service.
