The Lauren Condominium Association

Grill Etiquette

As you are aware, a part of The Lauren’s roof renovations project included the installation of an outdoor grill. The Board is pleased to offer this amenity to the residents of The Lauren, and we are excited that so many residents have enjoyed using the grill.

As the residents have begun to cookout on the grill, the Board would like to request that grill users observe these rules of operation and etiquette to ensure that the grill can be enjoyed by all for several more years.

1. Please take care when lighting the grill. The igniter has needed several replacements already because of improper use. Please press the igniter only once, and there is no need to press it very hard.

Note that because the grill is natural gas (not propane) you will not see flames, but you will feel the heat when the grill is lit. A manual lighter has also been provided in case the built-in electronic one fails. Please do not remove it from the area.

2. Remember to clean the grill when you have finished cooking. This can be easily done by using the wire scrubber while the grill is still warm. Leaving the grill clean is a common courtesy for other residents and is greatly appreciated.

3. Please turn off the gas at the outlet on the wall after you have finished grilling. Likewise, if you have trouble with ignition check to make sure this valve is in the open position.

4. Above all...please remember there is only one grill and many residents enjoy barbecuing.

Sharing grill space when necessary is appreciated and expected.
