RE: Security Reminder

As you are well aware, the Lauren is a safe building.

Past surveys of inhabitants have shown residents indicating a high degree of confidence about both personal safety and the safety of their property. Correspondingly, the number of incident reports filed because of an occurrence of burglary, injury, assault, fire, or other serious event are minimal to almost nonexistent.

This is a positive record that we would very much like to have continued!

Pragmatically, however, we are aware that being an attractive property in a highly trafficked area of the city predisposes perpetrators to consider The Lauren as a target.

THIS IS WHERE WE SEEK YOUR ASSISTANCE!

The first line of defense against crime is the perimeter -- specifically the DOORS -- of the building. It is essential that they be allowed to serve their purpose. Please DO NOT prop any doors open. If you see a door open CLOSE IT. The same holds true for interior fire doors such as the doors at both ends of every hallway, and the doors on the garage level. One of the biggest offenders are the doors just outside the laundry room leading to the garage and N Street. If someone is not actively moving or getting a delivery, these doors should be CLOSED and LOCKED.

Please report any malfunctions to the front desk so they may be investigated and repaired in a timely fashion.

Thank you for your continued cooperation in helping to make The Lauren a safe and attractive place to live.
