Saving the environment can be easy and rewarding! Take part in the Golden Triangle’s Spring Cleanup Week by dropping off a used cell phone, PDA, or pager to be recycled on April 20. You’ll get a free potted flower to take home and the chance to win some great prizes from the local merchants listed below.

Stop by at 11:00am in Farragut Square Park to meet Ward 2 Councilmember Jack Evans, who will be kicking off the event.

Stop by Farragut Square Park or Golden Triangle Park on Monday April 20 from 11:00am-2:00pm to recycle your used cell phone—it's easy, free and tax deductible—and you'll get a free flower for your home or office and a chance to win cool prizes from area shops and restaurants. It's all part of the Golden Triangle's Spring Cleanup Week to make the central business district look better than ever.

As long as your phone has been deactivated from service, there aren't security or privacy concerns. All makes and models of mobile phones, pagers, and PDAs are accepted—along with batteries, chargers, and other accessories. Visit www.recyclemycellphone.org for more information on recycling your phone or ask staff of the non-profit Earthworks, who will be onsite for the event. For more details on the event, email scarroll@goldentriangledc.com.
