July 03, 2003 Construction Update The Phillips Collection is about to begin construction on the Goh Annex and 1618 21st St., NW. Barring unforeseen difficulties, we anticipate that the permits will be issued in order for us to proceed with the project in mid-July. Our Construction Manager, Whiting-Turner, has begun to move into #9 Hillyer Court in order to monitor the project. Week-at-a-Glance The following dates are tentative, and will be refined once construction actually begins, which is slated for mid-July, 2003. At that time, real dates will be entered into the calendar directly. Start Construction (Goh Annex and 1618): July 14, 2003 Building Demolition: August 26, 2003 Alley Closed to Through Traffic: September 19, 2003 Concrete Start: Mid-Late February/March, 2004 Goh Annex Reopening: June 10, 2004 Alley Open: September 16, 2004 Project Complete: July 18, 2005 Exhibit Information The Phillips Collection will commence construction on the Goh Annex. Accordingly, all exhibit spaces in the Goh Annex are closed and exhibits will occur only in the main house. Please note to use the second staircase from Q Street to enter the museum (sign above door reads Museum Entrance). |
