Attend one of Washington’s most exciting springtime traditions - the National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade® on Saturday, April 9, from 10am – noon, rain or shine. The Parade runs along Constitution Avenue from 7th to 17th streets, NW, and is simulcast live, in its entirety, on WJLA-ABC7 and TBD TV. Lavish floats, giant helium balloons, marching bands, and performers burst down the historic avenue in an energy-filled spectacle of music and showmanship seen only once a year during the National Cherry Blossom Festival.

Grand Marshal
The National Cherry Blossom Festival is thrilled to announce that actor Atticus Shaffer, who plays youngest son Brick Heck on ABC’s The Middle, will be the Grand Marshal of the 2011 Parade. Atticus lives in California, and has been acting since 2006 and has a true passion for comedy endearing him to fans. Perhaps best known for the bus stop scene he shared with Will Smith in Hancock, his other roles in feature films include The Unborn, An American Carol, Leaving Barstow and Opposite Day. He has also done voiceovers for feature films including Year One, Subject: I Love You, along with series episodes of The Penguins of Madagascar and Disney Channel’s Fish Hooks.

Standing along the Parade route from Constitution Avenue between 9th and 15th streets, NW is free and open to the public. Arrive early for the best views.

Parade Applications
The National Cherry Blossom Festival welcomes marching bands, specialty units, youth choir members and tap dancers to apply for participation in the 2011 National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade®.
